Statistics Olympiad – a challenge for the ambitious

Since 2016, students from across Poland have competed for prizes and preferential admission opportunities at higher education institutions. In the 9th edition of the Statistics Olympiad, held in the 2024/2025 school year, 4,997 students from 562 schools took part.


European Statistics Competition

European Statistics Competition – international challenge!

The ESC is a competition organized by Eurostat and volunteering National Statistical Institutes addressed to secondary education students with the purpose of encouraging students to get familiar with statistics and official statistical sources. Polish stage is organized by Statistics Poland.

The competition is structured in two stages: national and European. The winners or finalists of the national stage of each country are eligible to take part in the European stage. It is necessary to take part in the national stage to be eligible to participate in the European stage.

Do you have an innovative idea for statistical research? Statistics Poland rewards the best master’s and doctoral theses in the field of statistics, helping young researchers develop their careers. Award-winning theses contribute to the development of data analysis methods and innovative approaches in official statistics. Join the group of winners!

The thesis must be submitted and defended at a university based in the territory of the Republic of Poland. Participants can submit their work in Polish or in English.

EMOS - European Master in Official Statistics

European Master in Official Statistics (EMOS) is an educational programme implemented under the patronage of Eurostat. EMOS is an additional programme path for master's studies, mainly in economics, covering widely understood statistical issues.


Statistics, Science and Business – Data for Experts

Statistics Poland supports researchers and academic institutions by providing data for analysis and organising conferences and seminars. A key event in 2025 was the 5th Congress of Polish Statistics.

Congress of Polish Statistics

The 5th Polish Statistics Congress took place from 1 to 3 July 2025. The event was organized by the Statistics Poland in cooperation with the Polish Statistical Association.

Over the course of three days, participants had the opportunity to attend lectures, panel discussions, and debates covering the latest challenges and trends in modern statistics. Key topics included advancements in statistical methodology, the development of analytical tools, artificial intelligence, data science, and the practical application of data in social and economic life.

The Congress brought together a wide range of experts, academics, practitioners, and representatives of public administration who use statistics as a key decision-making tool.
